Ah... yeah... about that...

Unfortunately I am still waiting for some major parts from my fiberglass supplier, so the trip is a no-go from this end. I am very sad about that since I was really ready to show everything off. The new car is significantly different and a vastly different than the original car. The decision to outsource a number of key fiberglass components has really put the project on a slow path. The saying is "Good, Fast, Cheap: Pick two! and the saying holds true!

But in honor of the Pomona National Kit Car Show this weekend which I a MISSING, here are some photos of the car.

Rear Independent Suspension - 11" wide rubber, GAZ Shocks (I sell these btw and soon in the online store for a great price).


Front unequal length suspension with revised geometry, using MK2 MR2 5 lug hubs all around too. 8.5" wide fronts on 17" rims. GAZ coilovers.


Full 6-point cro-moly cage with openings for full size doors. Doors also have full roll-up electric windows! Still waiting for this component from the fiberglass shop.


New interior with option of RHD or LHD or CENTER if you want that sort of crazy thing. Notice fuel filler. Side panel uses a mitsu Eclipse fuel door.


Car also has hidden latches for hood and rear clamshell, fully integrated wipers in the cowling with a Geo factory cowling to match the windshield, option for air conditioning and heat using a vintage air unit,

Yes and I'm STILL working on the hardtop, which has a removable targa center section, a glass rear window on the decklid and rear side windows. I am not ready to show this yet, but trust me when I tell you that the design is SOLID and it looks AWESOME!

Estimated final weight of the car is 1,700lbs. The uprated MR2 turbo hubs and all the chassis upgrades mean that we can safely run over 450hp through the rear wheels. I don't mean that the car will be easy to drive with 450hp, but the chassis, driveline and suspension will handle the power.

The center section has been designed to be either a street model or a track model, with the track model featuring a number of additional tubes and braces not included in the street version.

Looking very nice. Handles 450hp you say...So, a longitudinal 440hp 4.4L supercharged Northstar would fit in there Twisted Evil

Has the wheelbase or overall width of the car changed?

Very Happy I love the new fuel filler door, i keep coming to this site to see any builds, mine is on hold as i broke my knee in a scooter accident so i am still out of comission, is that IRS suspension design be abailable for purchase?

I am not 100% certain that it will take the N* longitudinal. But that is due to width and not length. I would really like to know the width of that engine package including the headers.

I do expect to have the car finished before Carlise. It BETTER be! However this particular car is destined to go into a large crate to be shipped to the UK.

I do have another frame and bodywork in process, but that one will not be ready in time for any shows this spring.

I have been debating offering the IRS as an option for builders who have already purchased plans. But it won't be offered as plans only as a pre-built module.

It's about 28"-30". A more exact measurement would be good if someone decided to put one in, but that is a general idea for a quick GO/NO GO decision. The engine is really flat (much shorter than the Toyota 4 cylinders), but it is wide. The headers are under the cylinder head/valve covers and don't really add much at all to the width of the motor.

I should mention though that the price of one of these motors is about the same as an LS7, ~$14,000 for a GM crate motor. Junk yard motors seem to run about $5000-$6000....so this is not a cheap option.

Hi guys,

Well I do have an update for you and that is that the LB2 premium kit has shipped to the UK after a long delay in the fiberglass department. The kit turns out to be an amazing piece of work and I am certain that it will be well received. It takes the strengths of the LB1 and builds upon it to create a significant new car!

Here are some photos and I'll be happy to answer any questions you might have. This will be a quick and dirty (and in no particular order!) picture posting because I am almost late for a Dr. appointment this morning.































I hope you enjoy those. I will be creating a new page on the main site with these and probably more images with descriptions and a listing of all of the components included in the various staged kits we are now offering for sale. I cannot stress how much more advanced this kit is over the LB1. As you can see from the photos, it's a superb piece of work.

Looks great Steve,glad you got it done.you could post some pics of the final hard top design.what did you end up using for side windows?the rear suspension looks very interesting.also like the fender returns added,that is one thing i was planning when i repaint.we need more pictures of all the new improvements.
