August 23rd - Did you think I was dead? Print E-mail

Hi everyone! It's been a long hard summer so far. The day job just won't let up. I am in a position where the company that I manage is close to a major breakthrough in sales and profit. Of course this means that the personell we have are being pushed to the limit. I barely have enough time to come home to sleep. Soon it will come to a point where we will hire more people and the pressure will go down a notch. But for now growing the company is just too important to ignore.

I haven't stopped working on the car completely though. It's really just more of the same though, the pace is much slower and the type of work is so completely boring that if it weren't for the fact that I feel like you are my family, I wouldn't bother to say anything at all. You know how it is when you have that one person in the room that won't shut up? Even though there is simply nothing to say? Well, there just isn't anything to say at this time. So I'll just shut up.

I did manage to learn how to operate a lathe and a mill this week. I am making the tail lamp housings all match each other in outer dimension. The original work had a large variance in those diameters, and the holes in the bodywork were all being made at different sizes. Now that they have all been turned down to identical dimensions, it won't be a problem fitting them into any position.

I took some photos of Bill Kibler and his shop and a couple of the car and I have uploaded them to a new gallery. Here is a link straight to the gallery. As you will see, it doesn't look much different today than a month ago....

You see, I couldn't shut up afer all! :)
