July 7th, 20005 - These hot summer days... Print E-mail
It seems like I'm always falling behind on something these days. Lately it's been my own website. My apologies to everyone who checks in here from time to time expecting to see the latest photos of la Bala progress. Not much to see these days. I have taken pictures of the progress, but really the photos look so similar to the last batch that they're not even worth posting!

It's been well into the 110's (farenheit) for the past few weeks and it's really a struggle to get over to the shop to work on the car because I have so many other things going on... But this week I spent a good 8 hours sanding and polishing. At this point I am simply adding detail and making sure that all panels are as straight as possible. I also reworked the bonnet to make it more "curvy". So you see, I'm still here, the project is not dead, just slowed to a crawl for these hot summer months.

I haven't really had the time to participate on the site, (my own site!) for a while now. So I just wanted to let everyone know that I am sorry to be dropping the ball. I've been simply overwhelmed with other projects and the site ends up being low man on the totem pole.

Since I last wrote anything here Yvonne and
I bought a new house (a huuuge house with a 3 car garage), and moved to another city. But really only moved 10 miles to the north, up to Cave Creek, Arizona. This is the city that you may have heard about on the news with the huge wildfires. The Cave Creek complex fire is situated about 15 miles to the north of us. At night we can see the fire on the mountains. It is moving away from us at this time. Last night there was a wildfire that raged just to the south of us, just across the street actually. We thought we would have to evacuate, but the firefighters brought it under control pretty quickly. Thank God for fire hydrants! The fires to the north are far out into the desert and therefore no fire hydrants to fight with. The early rains this year caused the brush to grow much more than usual, so now we are dealing with all of this extra "fuel" for the fires.

Thanks for your patience everyone. In a few weeks I will start shooting final primers on the plug and then things will really start looking good. Good photos coming soon!
