Guages and injectors Print E-mail
IMG 0062In preparation for the MegaSquirtnEdis/Forced Induction setup that I am creating for my engine, I bought a set of 365cc 4AGZE injectors from Brent Picasso. He just happened to be selling them on eBay and I was the lucky winner. Brent told me that the injectors needed to be cleaned. The Bottom end of the 3 rib 4AGE is a weak area of the engine and therefore durability of this particular build is critically dependent on fuel and ignition being perfect. As long as I don't starve or detonate the engine, it will make well over 200HP. With the knowledge gained by hours and countless hours of research on both the www.club4ag.com website and the www.mr2oc.com website I gained enough confidence to attempt the project. The Turbo parts have all been purchased save a few hoses and T's. But that information will wait another diary entry in the months ahead. Back the injectors. I decided to have the injectors cleaned professionally. Based on the advice of Bill Strong at www.mr2oc.com, I sent my injectors to WitchHunter Performance. The cost was $12 per injector and that is the lowest cost by far of any I had found. WitchHunter received my injecotrs and had them back to me within a week of them leaving my doorstep. That's good service!

Another win on eBay! A massive 5" Autometer SportComp Silver Tachometer with shift light and memory recall. This auction came with two extra guages, ProComp Ultralight oil temp and trans temp with sender. All of them in New and unused condition. for $150. A very good buy. I don't think I will have a need for the trans temp, but... the temperature markings are identical to a Water Temp guage.... Hmmm, maybe it will become the water temp guage? I'll have to decide if I want to crack the guage open and try to change the wording, or just leave it alone, or sell it and get the right one...
