You know what this car really needs? A roof. Print E-mail
I had a huge piece of cardboard laying by the side of the garage and in danger of being ruined by the massive rains we have been experiencing. To get it out of the way I laid it up on top of the car. But just as I did, a little lightbulb went off inside my head to try to shape it into a roof. Just for fun you know. Just to see what a roof might look like on the car.

I like the idea of a one piece roof that hinges from the front, across the windshield. Latches at the back and is raised in one piece. This would allow one to enter and exit the cockpit without the need to add doors. Doors are the one item that will add a lot of weight and complexity to the build and that is one thing I am trying to avoid. Windows might be non-cranked, removeable units that are simply latched into place. Let me know what you think.

In other news, I got my quick-release steering wheel adapter from Evasive Motorsports yesterday. What a nice piece of equipment! With a real carbon fiber release ring just for looks. (I was feeling vain when I ordered it). So light, and what a positive lock. Just wonderful and I recommend it to anyone that is looking for a quick release for their steering wheel. I believe that this one will adapt to Momo steering wheels. And you will need the proper hub adapter for you car which I already had. But Evasive will sell you all these items.

IMG 0041The item on the left bolts to the hub adapter on the car. The item on the right bolts to the steering wheel. You can see that this adapter retains the use of the horn. Which is really cool. The ball bearings lock into the divots in only one position and there is absolutely no play whatsoever. Top notch.
