August 16th, 2004 - Progress Print E-mail

I was unable to do too much in the garage this weekend because I had to work on some side jobs and I also wanted to spend some time with my kids before they went back to school.

I felt bad about not working on the car, so I made 2 quick little videos that I thought would be of interest to you.

The first video is how to install a Rivnut into a chassis framerail using only simple objects found in the garage rather than the special rivnut insertion tool that everyone says you need. Rivnuts are really cool and I intend to use them to install the engine undertray to the bottom of the chassis. The undertray needs to be removable so the rivnuts are a great solution to this.

The second video is a walkaround showing the current progress of La Bala bodywork. This video will really give you a feel for how far I have progressed... and how far I have to go.

I also sold the Jeep Liberty tail lights on ebay. I took a slight loss on them, but made enough to pay for some really nice 4" round 61 LED units.

I think that these lights look really good. They have a nice radial pattern to the LED's.  I have been researching tail lights for a long, looong time and was very happy to find these on ebay for a great price. I got all 4 lights, grommets and wiring pigtails for $97 including shipping. That's almost unheard of for these 61 LED units.
