Progress Report - July 5th, 2004 Print E-mail

It's been a while since my last current diary update. Mainly due to circumstances beyond my control, I was unable to spend any quality time with my 'girl' until late this holiday weekend. Fortunately the time I did get in the garage was time well spent. As I write this it's 10:30pm, and I am just coming in from a 7 hour stint out of the oven that is my garage.

I continue to work forward from the rear of the car and I've reached the side air intakes on both sides. I also tackled the front edge of the hood where it meets the windshield.

I have only a few more ribs to go!

You may have also noticed that the rollbar structure has been removed at this stage. This is so I can work the back edge of the cockpit opening more efficiently.

Actually, I really like the look of the car without the rollbar. I think it will probably stay off most always on the road, except when I take it to the track. I can't really see a car this low to the ground rolling over... Maybe if I hit a curb whilst sliding sideways... But if I'm going that fast I will be at the track...
