IMG_0001 These Camaro lamps look like a suitable headlight unit. I will need to research these further. They certainly are small!
IMG_0002 Top view down of the front suspension/steering assembly. I am thinking that somehow I have anti-ackerman built into the steering since it is so slow and sluggish. However, this may be an illusion caused by the fact that the car is so light and quick compared to the original MR2.
IMG_0003 I have been reassured by several knowledgeable people that the current position of the rack could not contribute to the sluggish handling I describe. I am thinking that the solution then is that the ratio needs to be quickened. So I will need to look into that.
IMG_0004 I was given a very nice Honda S2000 Start Engine button by my neighbor Toby. Helpful fellow!

Full right lock on the steering. Is it just me, or is it an optical illusion that the outer wheel looks more angled than the inner?

It's really time to put it on an alignment machine.

Trial fitting the rollbar. At this height my head just barely touches the bar. With a helmet on, the top of the helmet is above the top of the rollbar.

My first impression is that the rollbar at this height makes the car look vey funny and cartoonish. It is approx 2" taller than the windwhield.

As an open air (topless) car I don't think that the height difference bothers me too much. A coupe version may need to have a serious bubbletop ...

I have received a suggestion to lower the seat. Not possible as the sliders are already sitting 1" off the floor. I could tilt the seat back, but the position is so comfortable right now... I could raise the windshield frame. Cut it off and add 2" to it... I could tilt the windshield up several degrees, but as it is I think that it is too upright for the look I am trying to achieve...

It's also time to start thinking about the instrument panel and the dash...

IMG_0009

In retrospect, I think that I would make the entire center hoop of the car out of 2" round tube. See how the rollbar butts into that 2" x 1" frame piece? That entire assembly should have been 2" round.

Of course I already have so many ideas for what I will do on the next car... :-)

IMG_0010 Maybe the rollbar needs to be a little more streamlined, shaped to follow the contour of the seats... Suggestions?
